The Salvation Army is currently setting up appointments for rent and utility assistance. Their bus pass policy is the same as InAsMuch Ministry*. The Salvation Army also has a food pantry. Update from Tim Smith.
*InAsMuch provides 3 all-day bus passes to clients for seeking employment, getting to work or medical appointments. Bus passes can be received once every 14 days.
Begin taking applications for energy assistance on October 5. They now have a Burmese-speaking volunteer.
October 10 Energy Fair at Andorfer Commons on the IIT campus (1600 E. Washington Blvd.) She can email a flyer. The fair will run from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. It is open to the public and will provide information for homeowners on ways to save energy this winter. Social service agencies will give out information on public assistance with energy bills. There will be hourly door prizes and free food.
